Margot Bellweather lives a quiet life on the island of Whelk, floating high in the skies of Aetherland. She has her books, her grandmother, and her father has just returned from his latest adventures sailing the Wandering Isles. What more could she ask for?
However, Margot’s peaceful life is turned upside down when she becomes embroiled in a plot to thrust Aetherland into a brutal war with its hostile neighbour, Vetlya.
Now, burdened with a secret that could stop the war before it begins, Margot must brave the inhospitable and dangerous Storm Wilds where danger lurks behind every cloud, and one wrong move could send her spiralling to the shadowed halls of the down deep.
Along the way Margot faces great dangers, makes unexpected allies and learns she is more capable than she lets herself believe.
Complete at 60k words, Aetherland is a YA fantasy novel containing the wonder and charm of Ghibli’s Howl’s Moving Castle, along with the sea(sky)-faring adventure with-a-twist of Tress of the Emerald Sea.

Storytelling has always been in my blood. By day I tell stories about science and medical research and by night I write stories about fantastical worlds.
